TYRES AND WHEELS

Tyres
Condition
Record tread depth, wear, weathering, bulges or embedded objects
Pressure
Check when cold and adjust to load found on tyre placard

Wheels
Spokes
Bent, broken, mission, tension
Cast
Cracks or dents
Rims
Out of round/true, spin wheel and note against a stationary pointer
Bearings
Check for free play between hub and axle
Seals
Cracked, cut or torn, spacer heavily worn, rust around outside of seal
Brakes
Check brake operation, record lining thickness

CONTROLS

Levers & Cables
Check Condition
Broken, bent cracked mounts tight, ball ends present, proper adjustment
Fraying, kinks, lubrication of interior and ends
Routing
No interference or pulling at steering head/suspension, sharp angles, cable supports and fixings in place

Hoses
Condition
Cuts, cracks, leaks, bulges, chafing or deterioration
Routing
No interference or pulling at steering head/suspension, sharp angles, hose supports and fixings in place

Throttle
Operation
Moves freely, snaps closed, correct free play and doesn’t alter when bars are turned from side to side, check idle adjustment

LIGHTS

Headlight
Condition
Cracks, reflector, mounting and adjustment system
Aim
Correct height, and right/left adjustment
Operation
Low beam, high beam and pass light

Tail light
Condition
Cracks, reflector, mounting, clean and bright
Operation
Tail light comes on with park lights, brake light works on both front and rear
Indicators
Operation
Indicators and hazard lights work correctly

Mirrors
Condition
Cracks, clean, tight mounts and swivel joints (we do not adjust position)

Wiring
Condition
Frayed, chafing insulation
Routing
No interference or pulling at steering head/suspension, sharp angles, cable supports and fixings in place

Dash
Operation
Warning lights work correctly, record the KM's/HR's of this service


OILS & FLUIDS

Levels
Engine oil
Replace engine oil, sump plug gasket and oil filter, refill to correct level
Gear oil
Inspect the level of the gearbox & diff oils if required
Hydraulic oil
Inspect the level of the brake and clutch fluids
Test condition of brake & clutch fluid
Coolant
Inspect the level of the coolant in the reservoir and radiator if accessible

Leaks
Engine oil
Gaskets, housings, seals, sump plug and oil filter/housing
Gear oil
Gaskets, housings, seals, sump plug and breathers
Coolant
Radiator, hoses, caps, fittings and pipes
Fuel
Inspect fuel system for leaks

Service
Air cleaner
Clean/clear airbox drain, check air filter if not concealed by panels or tank.

CHASSIS

Frame
Condition
Cracks at gussets, accessory mounts (look for cracked/missing paint)
Head-stem bearings
Free movement through full travel, not tight or loose/clunking
Swing-arm
Inspect for bearing movement/play

Suspension
Forks
Check for correct compression and rebound operation
Shock
Check for correct compression and rebound operation

Chain or Belt
Tension
Check at tightest point, adjust if necessary and lubricate
Sprockets
Teeth not hooked or worn, and sprockets are securely mounted

Fasteners
Nuts/bolts/clips
Check for loose or missing fasteners, replace as needed

Foot pegs
Condition
Check foot pegs for missing rubbers/bumpers
Lubricate
Lubricate foot peg, side stand and centre stand pivots

STANDS

Centre
Condition
Check for cracks or bending
Retention
Springs hold the stand in place with appropriate tension

Side
Condition
Check for cracks or bending, cut out switch works properly
Retention
Springs hold the stand in place with appropriate tension
